Caledonia
Join us at Caledonia and retreat to a space that celebrates the partnership of art-nouveau and the incredible backdrop of the beautiful Campsie Hills. In the 18th century, Glasgow became home to the developing art-nouveau movement. A group of very influential artists pioneered what later became known as ‘The Glasgow Style’ – using mixed mediums such as stained glass and textiles; as well as colour tones of pinks, purples, and greens to differentiate themselves from the mainland European artnouveau style.
With our windows framing the Campsie Hills, we pay homage to this influential Glaswegian style – and just like in the art of the time, we celebrate all that is natural in Scotland. The subtle earth tones of the soft furnishings and inclusion of natural materials like wood, glass, and metal echo the textures and colours of our surrounding landscape, while floral motifs and soft curving lines bring the beauty of nature into Caledonia.
Relax and take in the beautiful landscape and our rich Scottish history in a place that reflects the cultural and natural identity of Glasgow, while you explore a menu that reimagines classic dishes with a modern twist. We are committed to making every detail perfect from the first sip to the last bite.
The Caledonia at Glasgow Airport acts as a haven and a gateway for exploring the rest of the Scottish Isles, and the world. We are both a comforting piece of home and a farewell to Glasgow before you venture out into the open skies.
